The state of Kedah situated in the northern part of Peninsular Malaysia has a land area of approximately 9,400 and share common borders with Perlis. Penang, Perak, Kelantan and Thailand.  Since late 1980s the state is fast changing from an agricultural state mainly producing rice to a manufacturing based and tourism industries.

Kedah continues to fascinate visitors with its charm and mystery of the legendary islands of Langkawi and its discovery of the archaeological site at the Bujang valley which furnished evidence and Artifacts of the existence of ancient civilisation in the 6th century A.D.
