Kota Bharu

bazaar-buluh-kubuKota  Bharu is the State Capital and Royal Town of Kelantan. It is not a big city but there are many interesting places for tourist to visit to understand more of its culture, history and tradition.

Bank Kerapu (World War II Memorial)

Like millions of people all over the world who remember WWII, the Kelantanese has erected this  memorial structure to display more than one thousand items which include artifacts of those times.

Cultural Centre

This cultural centre  or  known as Gelanggang Seni locally showcases Kelantanese traditional Malay culture and heritage. This centre only opened from March to October each year and three time a week. Tourists can watch Wayang Kulit (a shadow puppet show), demonstration of Silat (the Malay self defence martial art), Wau (the traditional handmade kites) and Gasing (top spinning skills).

Kelantan State Museum

Also know as State Art Gallery, tourists can find documents, artifacts of Kelantan tradition and historical evidence of Kelantan early trade ties with China and pre-historic Kelantan

Bazaar Buluh Kubu (Bamboo Fort Bazaar)

A popular place for tourist and locals to look for best bargains. This three storeys building sell local products like batik, songket, silverware and even imported Thai goods.
